Kate Middleton vs. Nicole Richie: Grace Kellies Re-incarnated

When I saw Kate er sorry Duchess Catherine's wedding dress I instantly thought of Nicole Richie's Wedding dress which garnered the same Grace Kelly-esque claims. It is clear that both dresses we're inspired by the American actress turned princess, but Kate's took a more traditional route whilst Nicole's screamed Hollywood.

Nicole's Marchesa dress was half what you would expect from her and half not. If anything, we all expected a bohemian flowing chiffon number. Instead she came out with this intricate lacing detail and a rather high collar. Here's a little tidbit: she had 'Nicole Richie & Joel Madden' delicately embroidered into her lace sleeve. What set Nicole's dress apart from the traditional was the yards of tulle used to create the skirt. It was massive! And I loved it! Fortunately for her, the tulle was removable and she was able to dance the night away.

Kate Middleton on the other hand, surprised me with just how beautiful she looked in such a classic dress. Now lets be honest, Kate's look is rather plain at times. And whilst this dress was plain it wasn't at the same time! Instead of a high collar she opted for a semi-low cut top which showed some decolletage and a full skirt. Her dress by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen suited her perfectly! Not only did she look stunning in her dress but so did her make up (which she did herself). I loved it from head to toe! The lace glittered almost. Did anyone else notice that? I also loved how even though the front was low cut the dress still maintained the collar in the back.

Time for the truth! Who's dress would I want to wear more? Kate or Nicole's?

Well, I've been dreaming of Nicole's dress for past year, but after seeing Kate's I'm sold. Kate Middleton wins. Hands done the most beautiful bride I've ever EVER seen. A return to the traditional is the look I'm all about and this McQueen dress spoke VOLUMES to me. The sky opened up and angels voices rang in my ear lol. More pics below.**
